Blue/Yellow USA’s mission is to provide Ukraine’s military and civilian defenders, all of Ukraine’s people are its’ defenders, with the critical support necessary for survival and resistance, for the defense and recouping of their sovereign territory, for their victory, and for their future. We are committed to providing non-lethal, medical, humanitarian, assistance not only until victory but beyond. We are committed to advocating for Ukraine to remain independent, democratic and integer, and to the community outreach and educating necessary to achieve that goal.
Since our founding, our work has includes:
Non-lethal aid
Non-lethal aid includes electronic equipment pieces, communications equipment such as Starlinks and radios, thermal night vision gear, optics, drones, vehicles. Between June of 2022 and June of 2023 we provided over $800K in drones, over $700K worth of thermal night vision/optical equipment, and several hundred thousands in vehicles and other equipment.
Procurement is the first step after fundraising, without which none of this work would be possible. The second is transport and delivery. We handle transport to Poland and from there into Ukraine. Having both a US and Ukrainian non-profit allows us to comply with the new humanitarian aid laws in Ukraine. Our drivers transport the aid into Ukraine, where it is staged in several warehouses before being delivered through a direct, BYUSA to end-recipient on-the-ground network, allowing for speed, and efficacy.
Medical aid
The medical aid we provide includes evacuation and extraction of WIAs and civilians, the provision of critical medical supplies to military units, stabilization points, hospitals (civilian and military), ambulances, and other medical facilities, medical care through mobile clinics to under-served areas, training of military and civilians in first aid and combat medicine.
Evacuations, mobile clinics and training are handled by our superb medics team. Their work can be seen in the Medical Program gallery.
Our procurement involves direct purchases, partnerships with corporations/ manufacturers/organizations providing supplies and equipment, in-kind donations from individuals and communities, allowing us to distribute everything from hemo-static gauze to ultrasound machines, and other life-saving aid.
As the attacks, shelling and fighting increase, medical care and supplies are in demand requiring a steady supply essential to saving lives. We have provided over $600K in medical care/equipment but so much more is needed.
Blue/Yellow USA also assists in covering travel and medical expenses for wounded soldiers including for treatment outside Ukraine. We also assist in providing mental health services.
Protective aid
Ukrainian defenders, medics, rescue personnel and some civilians cannot remain protected without the necessary equipment: vests, plates, plate carriers, helmets, helicopter helmets, and other items. These save lives while those who wear them are themselves saving lives by defending Ukraine and providing medical care or conducting search and rescue operations among other tasks. Blue/Yellow USA has provided more than $200K in protective equipment.
Humanitarian aid
Our humanitarian assistance includes the evacuation of refugees, provision of food, water, other necessary items, pet food, generators batteries, clothing, body bags, and more. We provide this aid primarily in high-risk areas.
Advocacy
We advocate for Ukraine’s right to defense, receipt of aid, freedom, border integrity (1991) independence, and democracy by engaging with Congress, the Helsinki Commission (testified at the 12/7/2022 hearing), Atlantic Council events, communities, online events, both in the U.S. and abroad.
Future
Our work in Ukraine will not end with victory. We will continue to assist in the medical arena with a rehabilitation and PTSD clinic, and the rebuilding and supplying of facilities, the provision of training. At that point the focus will shift from drones, and protective gear to long-term rebuilding.
Transparency
We are a registered US 501(c)(3) public charity in the US, and a registered non-profit in Ukraine. Our finances are subject to strict controls by the IRS, and Ukrainian authorities, and open to our donors, thus ensuring transparency.
We provide photos and videos of units and medical facilities, as well as other entities receiving aid from us. However, until now we have rarely named the units due to safety concerns. Photos can be viewed in our galleries, and videos in the video section.
